getting dips of 30FPS....gtx760...i53570k.... is this normal?
hey whats up all.... I am wondering.... why I am getting dips of 30FPS and sometimes under for a brief moment. in my mind, I should not be getting anywhere near that with my rig. am i wrong? is anyone else experiencing FPS drops? it runs smooth most of the time, but I do not expect it to drop anywhere near those levels. thank you for your input. stay classy. cheers.

The Low FPS can be from many things. Your computer can be slow, or not maximum and recommended W to your Power Supply. Also the game can take a lot of FPS if you're using Very High settings.

yes, i am on maxed settings, but I have a GTX760 + i53570K powered on a 700WATT PSU. WAY more than I would ever need. granted I am playing with like 30 people on a server, it still seems that the game should not dip like it does given my specs.

Try changing you graphic settings on nVIDIA Control Panel. Maybe you can "overclock" it to have a low profile.

Desssign3D thanks, I will check into the nvidia control panel. Easy, what kind of setup do you have?

I'm using an old PC, so I don't have to open the panel for nothing. I'm actually using ATi Radeon 9500/9200SE graphic card.

You're welcome

do you have a power supply powerfull enough to run this propperly?

remember your cpu-motherboard-ram-screen and speakers also need power!
so you need one on 800w i think to make it run good

ps. turn it back again if you have optimized the game with Nvidia Geforce Experience

edit: afer i read the post again, i think you mean that the fps will drop to 40 or something on some maps and on certain areas
(that is nothing with your pc that is the map been poorly optimized)
and on servers this can be much worse because ping also will come to a factor..

cheers and hope you find out :)

If you play on the official maps like de_dust2, cs_office and so on, it isn't normal. But on some custom maps, my FPS drops on 30fps, too..

you have no idea what you are talking about, his computer could run fine on a 450 watt supply with room to spare, its the ability to deliver the proper amperage more so then wattage thats important for most high end video cards. his machine prob actually used less then 300 watts full load, but his videocard needs around 30amps on the 12v rails.

also unless you have ♥♥♥♥ usb powered speakers they get their power from the wall, no your computer.

Sounds like a drivers issue/ old GPU?
