no hl2 blood particle on player chracters?

look this. the player chracters bleeding the old blood particle from 2004.

but this picture... the hostage bleeding the hl2 blood particle(source 2007 or 09).
why player chars are not has hl2 blood particle?
is there any good blood particle for player chracters?
