I would love to see a Linux version
What are the chances of a Linux port? I'd love to add this game to my collection! :)

Andy Hull, Spelunky's programmer, has expressed interest in bringing Spelunky to Linux (and Mac) so I'd say the chances are pretty good, but at the moment there's no word on how long it might take the game to be ported over.

That's cool. I'll keep my eyes out for it then.

I'm not Andy, this is Andy. Your best shot at an answer might be tweeting him, as well as Spelunky's creator Derek Yu, that question.

Even though im not a linux user, I feel really sad the little amount of support linux gets :/

Actually, it gets a lot of support, or at least a lot more than it used to. Valve gave us a big gift when they ported Steam to Linux and turned Linux into a viable alternative to Windows for gaming. Right now my Steam library has around 40 games available for Linux.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. We've had more profesionally developed commercial games released for Linux in the last six-months than we've had in the previous ten-years, so this is like a golden age for Linux users, and I find that as more games are released for Linux, my desire to reboot into Windows just to play a game is becoming less and less. To that end, I prefer buying Linux versions of games whenever possible.

I was wondering about this since I just installed Steam onto the Linux partition of my laptop. If Spelunky did ever see the day of light in Linux it would be the only game I would ever play on it. :)
