Always run instead of holding the button permanently
Hi,
i really like the game and i enjoy it greatly, but i have a hard time keeping the run button pressed most of the time.

Wouldn't it be a nice feature to always run and only walk if you press the run button? I would really appreciate if this feature would be added, maybe as a toggle in the settings.

with kind regards

Edit: To clarify what i would like to have, an option in the settings that makes the run button a walk button. If you enable the option, your character runs by default and walks if you press the button.

I support this proposal so they'll stop complaining about it

Yeah. This would be a really nice option. Would love to see this added to the game.

If you're using a controler, map the run button from R2 to R1. It's puts way less strain on your finger.

Or you can just make it so that double tapping the run button locks it in run until you double tap again.

NO! God NO

There are many times where you need to inch around things.

Double tapping would be impractical for jumps where you can't run more than a few centimeters, and probably annoying for general use anyway. Especially with the jetpack /cape (holding run does accelerate your flight speed with those, for those who don't know).
It should just be a toggle honestly.

Bind Sprint to Home and wedge a coin or something, so it stays down. Though I'd recommend not to do this on the later levels where things get a bit hectic.

I DID SAY IT WAS A TOGGLE. I SAID IF YOU DOUBLE TAP IT, IT TOGGLES IT. IF YOU LET GO, IT STAYS THAT WAY UNTIL YOU DOUBLE TAP AGAIN. sorry for all caps.

Yup, I wholeheartedly agree (with the original proposal). I had the same problem with Super Meat Boy. My play-times would be greatly increased with this addition.

A great game regardless.

Whether you developed this game, or just play it, I thank you for your time and effort.

Spelunk on, my friend.
:)

This is not what i want because it makes your character run only.

This is actually a great suggestion. You have my support!

I also want the game to always run and walk when I press the button. There are still times you need to walk but 95% of the time your running once you get a handle on the game.

Yeah would be nice. I don´t mind just holding the button down but it is hardly optimal.

Toggle = win.
