Local coop? Seriously?
I had a lot of fun playing this at a friend's house in X360, and was looking foward to this release. I was pretty happy to see it at Steam, only to have my dreams crushed by the words "Local Co-op". Making a PC port should be more than just making the game run on another system, local Co-op does not work for 99% of the PC player base.

I hope you reconsider this. I won't be buying this game for this reason only, like many of my friends.

Yeah that doesnt make much sense, considering the ease of use of Steam's friend-list and adding friends to matches.
How many Indie rougelikes honestly have an online mode? If you don't own the game already (I can understand OP not wanting to double-dip for no new PC features) then no online should not stop you from buying one of the best rougelikes ever made.

it will be innovative to actually have online play
Mmm, I was looking forward to playing this online with some friends.
I agree whole hearted'ly. I hope someone will mod it to make Online Co-op possible.
they should patch this and make online coop..
Maybe get some real life friends
I feel that, but I also think people are finally realizing that computers don't have stay on a desk or that it's not a big deal to get another chair or bring the pc to the living room with a few controllers. The real shame is that there aren't more local co-op games out there. It's simply more fun. It would be great if there were some online play eventually, but I think for every person who can't get their friends together to play from the couch, there's probably someone who can't get their friends together to play online as well. That's just me, though. Local co-op is awesome, and it's great to see it easing it's way back into games. Not everyone can get a decent pc or a console, but they probably know someone who can. Local co-op let's them play games together.
Woa, this game has local co-op? Instant buy! :D

(I've been waiting for this game to come on steam anyway, so was going to buy regardless, but local co-op makes me even happier about it)
I actually bought it because it seemed so obvious that it had Online Co-op, turns out it doesn't... hope they implement it soon.

I don't think roguelikes should "obviously" have online co-op.
I feel as if they were going for a more retro couch co-op style. Make some friends around the neighborhood, then you'll have people to play with :D
This should have online co-op because it would be awesome. Dev's should work on a patch for this it would be so fun.
It's an obvious thing for people to want, that doesn't make it a snap to implement. This isn't EA we're talking about; tbh Mossmouth might want to see what the sales are like before spending hundreds of man-hours developing online play. It would be catastrophic to commit to upholding infrastructure on a game that only sold a few copies.

While I do wish there was online multiplayer, I'm okay with it not being added. I think people underestimate the work that would be involved (not looking for an arguement, I am no expert). I'm just happy to have another game with good local co-op. I've been really disappointed by the lack of that feature quite a few times, so I feel everyone's pain here.
