Gamepad or Keyboard?
Thinking of buying this game. Which one is the recommended?

I'm playing with gamepad (beat hell with it) personally i've never tried the Spelunky HD with the keyboard, but it's best with controller! (in my opinion)

I prefer to use a controller, but I know people that play the game just fine with a keyboard.

You may end up doing best with whatever sort of input method you're most used to for playing platformers.

Either is fine, i hear controller works but keyboard is fantastic aswell

Personal preference. I prefer keyboard, and I feel my preference is more valid after playing with a gamepad myself now.

There is nothing wrong with using a gamepad though, since it's pretty easy to get used to that as well.

I'd like an option to turn my Logitech F510 off. I'd probably prefer the controller but I'd like to use the Keyboard as well sometime but I don't like the idea of having to disconnect my controller from behind the PC everytime I want to do that.

The F510 has a switch on the back for changing between Xinput and Directinput, doesn't it? If it does, switch the controller to Directinput when you don't want to use it and Spelunky shouldn't recognize it.

I know it's not super convenient, but it's easier than unplugging the controller.

True, it does have a switch and I've used that on games before, but I'm not keen on it. Some games minimise as a result of the switch because Windows recognises it as a different device and proceeds to install DirectInput drives automatically. However I am yet to see if it behaves like that on Spelunky although a in-game option switch would be greatly appreciated.

:)

Anyway, either input is fine, controller is fine and keyboard is fine, i use keyboard and it has no problems what so ever and i have heard controller is absolutely fine

We know that but a in game option to select one at any one time would be nice.

I really wish they'd fix the bugs as well. The crashing when changing res or window/full screen is super annoying.

The thing I want most in this game, which hardly effects difficulty but is more of a convenience is the ability to drop when hanging, by pressing Down or Analogue Down on a controller or whatever key it would be for a keyboard. If that ever makes it's way into this game I'd be pretty chuffed.

There is. I must have missed it the first time I checked. In any case, I'd still love a drop from hanging action and of course the bug fixes lol.
