Arrow traps. Old or new?
Hello everyone,

Okay, simple question.
For those who played the free version you'll know what I'm talking about.
For those who haven't, the arrom traps on the free version didn't fly straight, they arked downwards.
So here's the question, wich ones do/would you prefer?
The old mechanic or this one.
The new mechanic is really predictable on where they hit the first time unlike the old one.
The old one however made it so that if you get suprised by an offscreen one, it would hit you in the face if you go in.

i think i prefer new ones.. it seems more real.. also.. they can suprise you a lot.. sometimes when you fire shotgun offscreen and arrow appears out of nowhere is annoying.

You aren't talking about todays daily by any chance are you? That's how I, and apparently other people died on 4-1. That was BS...

Well, on 4-1 very close to the start, if you fired a shotgun into a pathway, you triggerd an arrow trap, if that hit you, wich was apparently very likely it bounced you on top of a thwomp...

The new arrow traps are definitely more threatening. The original arrow traps were super easy to avoid and just kind of pathetic overall. You could see one directly ahead of you, walk towards it to trigger it, and the arrow would hit the ground before it ever reaches you. You could also crawl over the edge of one to safely disarm it.

The new one does feel a touch cheap sometimes, though, like when a shotgun blast or a thrown object sets off an arrow trap at the end of a long hallway, way off-screen, and you get hit by it.

The arcing arrows are actually closer to how they might act in real life.

I'd prefer if the Arrow Traps didn't exist. <_<

Well I generally prefer the Spelunky HD ones because they're more affected by physics, ropes and whipping and such.

More affected by physics... well accept gravity when they spring.
