My only real issue with the game

Why can a random enemy, or a badly angled boulder trap aggro the shopkeeper? I've lost a few good runs because a snake walked into the shop or something like that. I'd be fine with him just shooting the enemy, but don't make him mad a ME for no good reason!

But what did I have to do with that snake spawning right in front of that shop out of my view?

Cobras can't directly anger shopkeepers by attacking them. I'm certain mantraps can't either, and I'm pretty sure snails won't anger them as well. An exploding frog taking out part of the shop will, though, because otherwise it'd be pretty explotable by the player.

A shopkeeper might get set off if a damsel or hired hand they're trying to sell is damaged by an enemy, though. I'm not entirely certain about that one.

That might have been it. I seem to remember them saying something like "Hey, you can't do that!" when i spawned into the level.

He must have a better, super secret word he uses that makes him better than us. Or maybe, he's one of those people that are like "Whoa friend, it's threat, not aggro. Geeash."
