Game crashes on start with Windows 10

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. Everytime I try to start Spelunky it crashes. No error message, just the windows error message that the program isn't working anymore.

After I spent some time searching this forum/google I found a fix where I should change the config.txt and I tried various new settings but nothing worked.

I have a GTX770 graphics card and found that some new driver caused problems so I installed a older one, but that also did not help.

Can anyone help me ?

I have this problem too, it's been going on since before I updated to Windows 10.
I'm running a GTX980Ti, Phenom II processor.
Doesn't appear to matter whether or not GeForce Experience is running.
I've verified my config.txt is set for windowed, 720P, Language=0.

yeah i just bought the game and it doesent work at all every time i try to open it it takes me to a black screen then just brings me back to the desktop. i can here the music in the game tho

I don't get the game music.
Even more odd for me is that it worked for a good while (and works on another computer I have), then one day (no changes to the system) it started crashing immediately after launching.

It's not Windows 10. It's the Nvidia Stream Sharing crap in the driver not being compatible with Spelunky

Except that the game won't launch even with nVidia Stream Sharing & all other aspects of the GeForce Experience disabled, to the best of my ability to confirm they're disabled.

En propiedades de expelunky.exe vas a Compatibilidad > Ejecutar con una resolución de pantalla 640x480 y ya funciona perfectamente este y otros juegos en los que me pasaba lo mismo

Try setting combatibility mode to windows 7, this worked for me.
Also ensure DPI scaling is disabled
