Im addicted to this game...
I just wanted to ask if I am the only person here who replays this game all over again??? I really love it. I finished this game the same day it was released, but i still cant forget this awesome story and atmosphere. Once in every few days im replaying some favorite levels. This game is a drug
And you know why Im coming back ? Because I think there is an easter egg in this game. I searched on google, but it seems that there are no secrets in this game. But i really believe there is one big secret, but its hidden. Have anyone found any secrets or secret places in this game ?

Whats the point of replaying?

the enemies do the same thing every TIME

puzzles can be completed in a manner of seconds

and the whole game takes about 3 hours to beat

I for one dislike this game with every fibre of my being

TCR promised one thing and delivered another...

I know they talked about removing the inventory before.. but other things such as puzzles ACTUALLY being challenging!

also I believed they said something about "redefining horror" didn't realise TCR were scared of generic creepy children cliche's and flickering lights

Now the story was good but not amazing it still had plenty of problems such as a certain twist being revealed AT THE BEGINING OF THE GAME and is not "the most disturbing story in a game"

now the sound design was great with the music setting the mood or the growls and oinks of the pathetic pig monsters

the ending was quite thought provoking I will give it that but other the game was EXTREMELY disapointing, you have no idea how much it hurts me to say that.

Why bother replaying every game, rewatch every movies or re read every books, you alredy know anything?
You know, mankind like to revive the moments he feeled at first. But off course you had to like it at first, or would be rally a waste of time. The fact that you don't like it it's almost irrilevant to what he asked, no rude intention.

Anyway to the OP, i replayed it a couple of time,or i load up the ending some time when i'm in mood. I made a playtrhought with my girlfriend and she loved it too. Why i'm not bored? he fact that i alredy know what's all about make it even more disturbing, that "innocent" note read whitout real attention at begin, become a bloody page directly from a sick hell build by a single man. That's the creepyness somebody miss. The Chinese Room games are great because you can play them as much as you want and everytime they retain them power, letting you discover little pieces that you missed previously.

your right I did get off topic in a matter of seconds didn't I?

I suppose it did leave some deep thoughts that even today I still think about.
though it doesn't really leave a sort of need to replay it.

Well, I didn´t replay the game itself but I searched for some mods for Amnesia TDD so I can experience different things like in AMFP. First I use a mod which makes the lantern look like the one from AMFP which also changes the ray of light and makes the levels for me creepier. Second I have a mod which swaps one item with the pigmask which I really find interesting because of the design.
For me this game was also something special. Even several days afte completing the game I thought about the story and what meaning it has. It may be not as scary like TDD but this didn´t ruin it for me because of the atmosphere only an Amnesia-Game can have. :)

I suppose the reason I didn't like it was that I thought it would be able to live up to original and suppose after the 3 years of delay I should have atleast lowered my expectations slightly ;(

Expecting a game to be like the previous is one of the bigest mistake one could make, for everything. You simply can't because why bother playing something too similar? If the really made Amnesia 2 (maybe Frictional) it would lead in a game boring as hell, who's scared for something alredy sought? We have alredy played almost anything out of The Dark Descent being too overused of it, and for a "sequel" (and A Machine for Pigs isn't and never will be a sequel that's why i loved it) we should expect something totally different. People being dissapointed by their own false expectation not by nasty developers.
I like both, i creeped out a couple of time with The Dark Descent, it was something new in the horror scene, but A Machine for Pigs left me totally stoned, i freaked out at my first playtrought, i had to take some breaks, never happened before. I don't know why but something touched me inside and nevel left me after the ending, i creep and cry every time only listening to Jessica Curry's Ost, remembering every single moment.
I'm a bit biased, i have to admit, i adore Dear Esther and A MAchie For Pigs was a great surprise for me, but i get why many found it disappointing, and it's a bit of a shame because look like they can't change a bit their point of view, focusing on single and not so important elements, instead of immersing them self in what it is, and for what it is.
I played and liked every Frictional games, i own all Penumbra series, i loved The Dark Descent, but again, A Machie for Pigs was something even bigger, and i want more!
