Is the game worth it?
Okay, I really don't care if it's scary or not. I just want it to have a good story. I'm planing on buying it since I played Amnesia: TDD. The game's graphics look really good and I like that. But is it worth it 16€?

Go for it, who's complainying for 16€ are kiddy who think they deserve that everything should be free.
If you're in for a good story i think you'll get, at least i enjoyed even more than The Dark Descent.
Let me say, The Dark Descent was Lovecraftian, A Machine For Pigs is a Poe novel.

Thanks for the response :)
I might give it a shot since I have been avoiding spoilers or even watching the unofficial trailers.

Go full blind my friend, as it is supposed to be for evey "mistery-horror-spooky" game, imo.

i preordered it based on how much i liked the dark descent, but for me all the good parts from the dark descent were missing from a machine for pigs. you mentioned interest in the story, and for me it was like being on the edge of a story because i felt like it didn't bother to address much of what i was interested in of its story. i felt the dark descent was a much more interesting and involved story.

i think where a machine for pigs shines is the way it creates atmosphere. there are some pretty great scenes and really excellent music, but combine that with an incomplete story and more of a movie feel than a game feel and it just wasn't enough for me. then they called it amnesia when it was nowhere near the game the dark descent was, and suddenly it's misleading as well.

Yes, I saw some bad reviews saying how it isn't Amnesia without the scares. But what I like is that a game has a good atmosphere. I'm not sure about the story part tho, it's just your opinion. Many people say the story is god, many people say it isn't. I guess it's just up to me

I have enjoyed playing both games, but hands down like this one more. The first one had more of a 'jump' factor then this one. But this one sucked me in and held my attention longer. If you like games like this, then honestly, I'd purchase both, because concept wise, they are different, but both are enjoyable games. But thats just my 2 cents.

I bought both of them, and loved them. Since I enjoy horror games, the second one wasn't really scary in a 'jump' factor but had super creepy atmosphere. The games also have very good graphics, which is one of the most important things in games.

It's definantly worth it! I just got done playing it and loved it. Not scary but still entertaining to play! If you want, we can maybe trade?

It's most certainly not worth $20. If it goes on sale for $5 or less, than I could recommend picking it up, but for $20 it's a ripoff.

It's pretty short as well, took me 3 hours to complete it while finding most (if not all) lore stuff.
Wasn't really the game I expected it to be but I guess you might enjoy it for what it is.
