Do I have to play Dark Descent before this?

Greetings. I did play Dark Descent before, but I can barely remember the story and I didn't get to finish the game; because I deleted my game files for some space and the saves were gone as well. If I recall correctly, I got lost during a puzzle in the Sewers and I ragequitted. Are the stories of both games related in some way, or is it ok if I play this now?

No, you don't really need to play Dark Descent. The stories have some connection, but not really that much or anything you'd even notice without digging deep into the story anyway.

yes this is okay, because this are seperate storys. It would even better if you play this game as first one because it isn't as scary as Amnesia the dark decent. So Amnesia the Dark decent will be an improvement for you. And this game could prepares you. You can start with the game you want. It doesn't mean it is not scary for you (:

It’s a story in the same general universe, and it’s barely connected. It’s pretty much a separate story.

A única outra conexão é que o Mandus é um sobrinho distante do carinha do The Dark Descent, mas tirando isso você tá certo, são dois jogos completamente separados.
