40 An Hour
On the news today, they were talking about upgrading the customs checkpoint at CYVR, the major airport that's closest to where I live. They said that a Canadian passport official can process roughly 40 applicants an hour. The Americans can process around three times as many because they frontload the lineup with a computerized passport scanner that asks 90% of the automatic questions.

Before Papers, Please, I would have given this news article the same value as typical things that emerge from anuses. Today, after working for the greater glory of Arstotzka, I find this kind of news deeply interesting. What a world, what a world.
