Class 5 Apartment ?
How can one afford to make it to a class 5 apartment? Starve/kill off family?? I'm pretty quick and accurate at the inspection job but I cannot seem to amass enough money to purchase anything past a class 7 apartment.

make much money in the first two days, every other day let the family without food. if you want to risk, accept only the first gift Ezic, but do not use immediately, wait a couple of days to use it.

Alternate a day of food and a day with heat. I had amassed about 400 credits at the end (without upgrading)

I'm currently at a Class 6 apartment. I've done it all through getting around 14 people processed per day. Sometimes it's a few more, sometimes it's less due to terrorism. It certainly helps to adopt the niece. She brings 100 credits along with her.

Damn, 14 people per day? Even when things get more complicated? You're a fast inspector! I'm lucky if I break even with my costs from my basic salary. If it wasn't for "gifts" I wouldn't be making a profit at all.

Well, the best I've gotten at the first inspection day is 11 citations, so it's not perfect, but hey. Mo' money, better livin'.

11 citations? And I was annoyed with my FIVE! Ha ha! Though this game DOES bring out the perfectionist in me... I often restart a day if I get a citation early on.

wait... there are 8enefits for going up the apartment chain?

If you know what you are doing, you can easily process over 20 people on day 3...

Well, if you care about such things, I believe there is an achievement for getting the best appartment.

There aren't any gameplay benefits, no. Presumably your family enjoys their improved living conditions, but it makes survival a bit more difficult.

As fnor3125 said, there is an achievement for reaching class 5 (currently the second-rarest achievement for this game), but whether that matters is up to you.

I usually get 13-16 people through on a day with on average one citation (I don't check for issuing cities).

You can let all but one person from your family starve without ending the game, I believe. This should cut down on food costs. Some important opportunities in the game that may get you there:

- If you adopt your niece, she will bring 100 credits the next day. You can probably let her (or another family member) die afterwards without ending the game.

- If you let Sergiu's girlfriend through and he survives, you will again get 100 credits.

Hmmm, i did the figures and starving off the parents and son helped ;) - easy choice for me being a ginger.

I recall being able to afford class 5 while being a rebel (thus getting a good amount of citations/short days from aiding the revolution and such) while not being the most efficient inspector...

I think I was able to do it by being corrupt... took bribes when I could, sold that watch (actually was going to keep it like I promised, but when the guy acted like a massive ♥♥♥♥ anyway so I restarted the day just to spite him), and detained at any possible moment. I was also a good shot too and I think I only had one moment where I didn't knock-out a terrorist (and still got money because there's a bonus for firing at all).

You can fire at terrorists?
Eregorn 18 AGO 2013 a las 14:53
you get a tranq gun (and eventually an actual gun, though the tranq gets more ammo). Essentially makes those terrorist days a lot less painful to your wallet.
