STUCK after killing EARTH ELEMENTAL / elemental forge

sequence of events:
- killed earth elemental @ elemental forge
- gave letter to Jon Morgan @ Castle Portmeyron
- Jon gave 2 additional quests:
- "Pirate Truce" (travel to the Crag)
- "The Search For Kilburn" (find the observatory - Yon Chal Forest)

Imperial Sentinel at the bridge says "there was pirate attack.. blah blah.. bridge is blocked - CANT CROSS THE BRIDGE
Guy at the docks - when i ask him to get me to Craig he says "Bandits took over city, cant go, maybe governor can help" - CANT GO TO CRAIG

NOTE: letter still shows on right bottom corner of screen when i enter the Castle Portmeyron, but quest not in log anymore.

What should i do now? I killed everything rexcept the shadow dragon, ogre, ghosts, cant find those crystals @ elemental forge.....

What next? Game doesnt explain enough, help!!

After beating the earth elemental and getting the new quests from Jon, the guard at the bridge should be gone. You get access to the next part of the peninsula and the town of Seahaven via the bridge. Sounds like your game bugged out :/ Unless there's something I'm missing. I just arrived at this point in the game 15 minutes ago and the guard is no longer at the bridge once you're done with the earth elemental and have spoken to Jon.

There's an earth elemental at the forge, but there is also the boss elemental you fight after you click on that rooted over shrine. After you kill the boss, should let your quest continue on. Not sure if that was the issue, but just in case others read after.

Im in the EXACT same boat... big bad elemental is dead.. i got followup quests from Lord.. but the guard is still on the bridge... looks like another lovely buggy PoS release from Ubisoft. So its either wait for a patch.. or restart the ENTIRE game?!

IF the Guard is still blocking your path... i was told in town you can rent a horse ride to Seahaven instead!!! Checking now!

This is not true. I just bought this game, the full release, and never had early access and I have this bug. Stop saying ♥♥♥♥ like you know what your talking about.
