Noob Question
Can I create my normal map from scratch within substance designer or do I need to do this in my 3D package first? I am very new to all of this and the tutorial I am following assumes I already have a higher quality normal map to go onto my low poly model.

We recently added a normal map baker in SD, so you can simply bring your low poly and high poly meshes and bake from scratch in SD, through the "Bake model information" dialog when you right click on your low poly in the Package window.

And SD does a terrific job of this. The Curvature Bake is extremely useful. However, if you desire something else you could always try xNormal. Good luck!
