You can activate the input names through the little "i" icon on top of the graph, "Display connector name", so when you mouseover a node, you can see the name of each input and output.
I've never seen that warning, does it happen on a specific graph ?

Ah cool that helps me alot with the "i" thx.

Example:
I create a new graph, then i drag a Filter into the editor and right click: Open Reference.
It creates a new node editor and there is the error message.

If you want to edit one of the filters shipped with SD by default, you will have to create a copy of that filter's file in your own working directory as the filters are read only so people don't mess with the library by accident.

If you want to edit one of those, right click on the filter's thunbnail in the Library window, and click on the url. It will bring you to the actual file. You can then copy and paste that file somewhere else and open it in SD to edit it.
