melee damage and hit detection
does anyone have a problem with melee being a bit weak or having a head shot turn into a neck shot? i seem to keep having these problems with the games i play (both offline and online). the melee is nice and slient as it should be the price you have to pay just to hit a enemy and hopefully kill it is a bit werid. it would make sense if the damage for all the weapons to be different (blunt weapons less damage than sharp weapons). my last issue is about how when aiming for a head shot and it goes through the head and into the zombie's neck. its not a big problem but it just take more ammo to kill it which is a problem.

besides those two issues im having the game is great and kinda wish there were more extraction maps but everything else is just fine.

I've also experienced some inaccuracies, dunno if it's balance changes, or the Field of Vision setting messing up the "imaginary crosshair" at lower settings (Well, I had 90 field of view and weapons seemed to miss quite alot, until I moved it to 100, but haven't tested it much...)

Well, with both firearms and melee weapons.

Pistols miss when ADS-stand-still at short range. Even some trouble when crouching and ADS at short range.
Melee weapons, mostly with Axe tho, it seems it's badly off, as vertical and horizontal swipes seem to miss, unless zombie is in melee range and have to aim so that the zombie would be on corners of the screen...

Charged Horizontal attacks with the Baseball Bat and Wrench on their heads killed zombies in one hit for me. Fire Axe seems to take two.

even with charged attacks. the price you pay is high for the result being a mess up do to bad aiming or having to hit again. but im glad im not the only person suffering these results

Right now the melee weapons are OP. The regular secondary attack is still the same. The accuracy of weapons was not touched. You must still aim for the brain, if you hit the jaw you'll likely get a throat hit I believe.

I prefer the sig sauer as I can usually achieve close to 100% accuracy with it at medium & close range. It is also the least accurate weapon.

Yeah. I'm not in favor of the axe as well. It seems to be the inefficient; out of all the melee weapons.

Well, Baseball bats seem to have excessive range, Wrench seems to be barely same as baseball bats, Sledgehammer having about same as zombie melee range.

Right now the Bats are best melee weapon to find in a match, atleast in my opinion, against bot zombies

I'm disappointed at how ineffective the fire axe has become, my favourite melee - unless you're lucky enough to lop off an arm with the first hit you're likely to get hit before you can swing again. All of my attempts at head shots with it usually result in stomach gibbing lol
Kinda weird when the guy with a wrench takes zombies down in one hit

well at least its reassuring that melee is the developer thinks its OP but i dont know really is. the guides that show the damage doesn't mean much since they are all about the same.

Melee is OP because firearms currently have horrible bullet detection.

yeah. firearms,offline and online, seem to registar head shots to neck shots. while this is not a big deal. but during a huge battle against PZ and humans it gets annoying that you had the headshot but never counted.

This is a joke, right? Right now, melee weapons are little more than a good way to kiss your health goodbye. Especially since you can't break the one-hit-kill animation, but can still take damage during it.

That's the trade-off for a 100% Accuracy hit.

You can avoid taking damage for a 1 hit kill. I suppose it may take practice to time it right but even I eventually (about halfway through an escape map) take a hit and hope to gan I don't find myself infected. But as Ratchet pointed out, it would only be even more ridiculous if the danger wasn't present at all.
