I like them both for different reasons.

NT
I like twin-stick shooters
I like all the different classes
I like the feel of the game

LoD
I like the level of randomization
I like all the different items
I like co-op

Both
I like their sense of humor
I like their visuals
I like their music
I like their basic game structures
I like that they (devs) talk with their communities

I couldn't pick between the two of them.

Still, thanks for the info :)

This game will stand out more 10 years from now. Both games are heavy derivatives but Legend of Dungeon managed an identity 10 times more unique than Nuclear Throne. Both are fun titles but LoD will probably last longer and feel less dated without being weighed down too much by the trends it's adhering to.

i dont want to judge but Nuclear Throne doesnt seem to have enough content till now to keep me motivated to play it for long. Even more because it has no Multiplayer (only god knows why a twin stick shooter today has no multiplayer, seriously).
And because Multiplayer (at least local coop) is a huge + for me for every game so LoD is much more a must buy than NT. But keep NT on the list it still is good.

I am a bit tired of the less than arbitrary reasons that everything needs multiplayer, online or otherwise.

Nothing about twin stick suggests a need for multiplayer. The only reason a game would need multiplayer is if the person making the game intends it to be multiplayer and changes the design and balance philosophy to facilitate multiplayer.

Nothing against you but the recent storm of multiplayer demand in small games from extremely small teams is frustrating even for a bystander like me. The demand rarely comes from a developer failing a promise or intention to include multiplayer, it's almost always arbitrary or completely immature reasoning coming from typical gamer rage because there is nothing better to do.

Recent reviews that heavily punish LoD's point score for "lacking online multiplayer" is proof enough of the sad idea from the worst kind of gaming ilk, the ignorant.

Owning both, I would say that Nuclear Throne is, in my opinion, too "bare bone" at the moment to be any real competition to Legend of Dungeon.

So, if you have to choose between them, get Legend now and give a second look à NT in a few months' time.

well owning both, and owning LoD from beta as well, its fun watching a game progress and giving your input and watching it happen in development. i actively talk with the guys from robot loves kitty on twitter and have tweeted back and forth with Vlambeer many times about Nuclear Throne.

I've played both, I own nuclear throne myself and played some co-op LoD with a friend
both have their positives and negatives so let's go over em one by one. Also this is my opinion, so if you don't agree feel free.

Legend of dungeon (almost beaten the game with friend, prob over 10 hours)
+incredible lighting effects
+great sense of humour
+nice pixel art
+ challenging
+ local co-op to play with friends
- lacks a bit of replayability if you don't play with friends
- lacks items if you compare to other 'roguelikes'

Nuclear Throne (few hours played, 3-5 but still playing daily)
+ many different characters, each very unique and drasticaly change playstyle
+ decent amount of weapons
+ good level up system
+ very replayable
- early access, pretty short so far (not really a - but if you're looking for a finished product)
- no co-op

I would suggest you get both, they are both easily worth it. Both very different and unique games. artwise legend of dungeon easily takes the prize, gameplay and replay wise i would say Nuclear throne wins.
If you prefer to play pc games solo i would say go for nuclear throne, i think legend of dungeon really shines with the local co-op.
hope this helps!
