Are saves in now?
Have been holding off playing this game because of the lack of save features, have they been added now?

Can't believe you guys gave in and put saves in.... I mean you;ve probably made a lot of angry kids happy, but wheres the challenge now! Glad I managed the treasure one time without any save features, its the first game thats given me that true sense of acheivement for years.

What do saves have to do with beating the game? All it does is eliminate the need to sit for hours and hours on end.

Saves are no more than the saves included in the original Rogue. It lets you resume where you left off, and deletes the save. Yes, you could cheat this way, but you can cheat by injecting stuff into memory as well... or hell, people hack the scores directly to the score board :\

But beating the game properly is something you do for yourself anyhow, something you accomplish and know you deserve after a long fight.

Anyhow, after listening to all sides, and despite the huge amount of work to implement it, I put saves in, and I am glad I did.

I'm not hating, believe me I loved the game its just part of the romance of the challenge for me was the all or nothing style approach to the treasure. It kind of felt like an adventure every time having to start from the beginning again and find new things everytime.

However I see now that you can't reload save points after you die, so I guess it hasn;t made it any easier just less enduring as you mentioned.

Any robokitty yes it is a shame people have hacked the scoreboard but I guess there will always be people who can't enjoy without cheating

Without Saves (which you didn't even seem to understand what this feature DID before commenting negatively on it) the game would take ~4 hours to beat. While that's not a super long time, that's a very long time to ask someone to sit down and beat without any breaks outside of hitting pause.

I cannot name very many games that last 3+ hours and don't have an option to save and quit.

Question for Cap'n Robot, does the save feature not work for daily? or co-op? I just got to like lvl 8 or so w/ my nephew (he loves this game) and he had to go. So I thought I'd just exit and it'd be saved. he's coming back in a short while, so I checked it to see if our progress was still there, and sadly no it was not. I know logic says "saves wouln't apply for the daily," but it wasn't even 15 minutes ago.

Should I just stick to seeds or the regular play mode, and in either will a co-op game be saved?

Saves work in Co-op and seeds... but not for the daily (it should just say Exit, not save and exit)

There are a few bugs in saves... rarely it just freaks out and deletes the saves :( Its an intermittent bug, and its going to be very hard to pin down... but for the vast majority of the time it will work.

Ah, well he will be bummed cuz we'll have to start over. But that's okay. I must say, I do love the game. I completed it twice not long after I bought it, and since it's just been a source of pure fun. Thanks for the info, and the great updates! Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing what comes along in the future for this title!

I'm glad you're having fun with it! I can't properly express how great it is to hear about family members playing co-op together. So many people have contacted us telling us how it's brought their family together in some way, we may have literally shed a tear once.

Makes all the hard work very worth it for us! :D

I must add, I'm an epileptic and a long time gamer (never seized during yalls game). I learned the mechanics for the game relatively fast, and am pretty good (when not playing impossible). But as an epileptic I have to describe his method of attack is simular to my seizures IRL.

Rapidly swinging at nothing, jumping into Lava, taking all the bad potions, and sometimes just dropping his Entire inventory while trying to attack!

In the game, he often times dies, or causes us to run into say a Skull Lord. But seeing his reactions are hillarious. And we fear the cats... all of them. That "dropping a cat in lava by accident" has occured far too often sir! lol! But yes, if he could he'd thank you personally I'm sure. Also glad to hear yall have fun with it. That's what makes for good devs!

shut it you prissy little fanboy, don't try and be fresh with me when you fail to understand that a comment that isn't all 'love it, yes, amazing, sucky sucky etc' isn't necessarily negative. So you can stick your barbed brackets comment you little ♥♥♥♥♥.

You waited three months to bump a thread and then spazzed out a bunch of bile, over a comment that was actually on point, since you pretty clearly didn't understand how saves work.

Awesome. You are a true internet champion.
