Lava Pits
I feel as if these may be the one glaring design flaw in an otherwise great and true to Rogue game. The pits are all too deep to escape, unless you buffed the otherwise useless jump stat. The bridges are too narrow, especially in isometric, revealing the issues regarding the perspective. The AI cannot navigate them, often jumping right in, friend and foe alike.
At every turn this one feature highlights problems in the game's overall design that would otherwise go unnoticed. Every time I encounter one I attempt to skip it completely, due to the high probability for unpreventable instadeath. To sum up, they look cool, but they work like crap.
