Will I enjoy it?

I've heard really good things about this, but as a 15-year-old whose only experience with FPS has revolved around modern ones (PAYDAY 2, Titanfall etc.) Would you still recommend this to me? I'll try it anyway because it's free, just wanted to get some more opinions first.

if you are a 15 year old who's only experience is with Modern Hand Holdy, Regenerating Health, Tunnel of Cutscene FPS then this hard as nails maze like FPS is bound to piss you off. It's pretty much the antithesis of modern FPS design.

Thanks, and I'm going in knowing that, I'm not a fan of modern FPS for the mostpart (apart from the two I previously mentioned, in which case I like the multiplayer, but I am looking for a good single player experience)

If you like this, I highly recommend Duke Nukem 3D.

Or Wolfenstien 3D. Or Doom. The list goes on and on....

I gave it a go, but as shallow as this sounds, that poor graphics put me off. I know it's old and I do not think that this is a bad game in any way whatsoever, but I'm just used to triple-A games, if a game like this came out with good graphics I would consider it (I'm thinking of getting the new shadow warrior)

Try it. I started playing retro fps's two years back when I was the same age and I love them. If you do enjoy this you should also make sure to try Duke Nukem 3D, Doom, and my personal favorite: Blood. Blood isn't the most advanced, but it's my favorite.

Ok cool, and it was the controls that bugged me, not the graphics, the sensitivities were different for x and y.

That's cause usually those old fps's weren't design for looking in the Y direction. I prefer playing these games without Y look for that reason.

Well, I've played a lot of the game (for some reason steam says only 3 mins) but I'm a bit younger then you. I personnaly really like these retro games, I bought all the doom games on sale and I've been playing through the frist one looking for all the fun secrets, I've tried this, although some secrets here arent too hard like the ones in Doom (some at least) and I also played Dark forces which is a star wars game also retro. Those 3 are extremely fun and I myself enjoy them, sadly the pixles give me a headache so I can only play them for so long.

I just got after seeing Totalbisciut rant about modern FPS, I thought I might give the all the retro games a go, (this game out the year before I was born) and is this game my first of (hopefuly) many 80s- 90s games to come.

Never forget about Quake. Quake III is one of the best FPS ever.
