wrong resolution
Hi all. When i trying to start this game, it runs at strange resolution. Some part of image is hidden behind the bottom of the screen. And i can't change resolution in options because "OK" button are behind the bottom of the screen too. Any advice?

I'm having the exact same problem. Seems most people can play it, I wonder what's causing it to go wrong on ours.

Okay, so I did a bit more research everyone, and another Steam user has answered the question for us. So a big thank you is due to horrid74.

According to him, go to
Local Disc(C:)>Program Files (x86)>Steam>SteamApps>Common>UFO Afterlight>Profiles

From there, you will find a .cfg file named "Options". Open it in wordpad. The Command line: GKEY 12 "fullscreen" BOOL TRUE
Is incorrect. Replace "TRUE" with "FALSE", save the file, and then launch the game. This should open it in a window that will allow you to fix the problem we are having. It worked for me!

Once again, a big thank you to horrid74

wont work for me there is no options thing in the profiles folder just a file called ProfilesInfo
Shturm13 7. jan, 2014 @ 8:41pm
Same thing. May be you can upload yours options.cfg somewhere and give us a link?

Is there another folder within the Profile folder? My Options document was inside another folder. If you don't have another folder, stat a new game, no need to actually play, just click "new game" name your profile, then exit game and try again. This time, there should be a folder there that will be named after your profile.

i just restarted steam and installed the first copy i got of it last year on steam and now the options file is there lol

maybe i should try get a refund from steam since now i have it on steam twice on the same account

I did it :)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\UFO Afterlight
Here we can find an UFO.exe file. I make a shorcut for it. After it i edited the shorcut and like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\UFO Afterlight\UFO.exe" --options fullscreen=false
Launched game, resized window and i seen OK button in options :)

Well that's good that you figured it out! The way I mentioned worked for me, but I didn't care to tell you guys that the solution I found is only proven to work for Windows 7, though form the looks of things, you didn't do much different than I did, except the solution I offered had the options in the profiles folder.

Man, I forgot how I fixed it,

May have done it via the launch options, don't remember.

I remember that after I managed to fix it I was sure to never touch the 16:9 / 4:3 toggle, that's in options, ever again.

should start the game in window mode.

Or I modified the resolution directly in a .ini or cfg file somewhere...

edit:

Oh.. this is how I fixed it. Had to dig into SPUF and look up an old post of mine:
