I can't believe I paid 30 dollars for this crap a decade ago and now it's free to play. Such garbage.

What a fantastic sandbox / survival / base builder.

It lays the groundwork for a lot of systems, and executes most them quite nicely. The main story may not be anything special, but the freedom you are given with the environment is just plain amazing. Every little bit is destroyable/mineable/buildable (Voxel environment), you can build up your own colony pretty much any way you want, recruit new people, train them up, even send them out to work for you (if they have the right skills). In addition there is a Voxel based creation mode for your own freaky designs for vehicles, guns, swords, etc.

The adventure mode adds a rather basic, but still greatly enjoyable, procedural generator to the world, and also introduces some RPG elements. It's just an extension of the main story mechanism, without the constraints of the story beats, and infinitely re-playable thanks to the world generator. While it is very rough around the edges, it still gave me hours of fun.

As a first outing for developer Pathea, this game is just outstanding and bodes well for the future. Highly recommended for people enjoying a somewhat chill base-building/colony sim, with adventure/RPG elements.
