Is there a fix for the flickering sprites?
Currently I've been finding that the in-game sprites flicker every so often, as those they've been damaged. It's kind of annoying. The issue seems to happen randomly and relatively frequently.

I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this issue recently.

At the moment I have been playing this on my laptop. Whilst I do get a solid 45-60 FPS my laptop only has an integrated Intel HD Graphics Card, Intel B950 processor and 4GB of RAM.

Do you know what model your CPU is or your laptop so I can look it up?

Intel Pentium B950, 2.10 GHz

The flickering is caused by the cpu not being able to decompress animations fast enough, unfortunately that CPU is either below the min specs or just around them, sorry =/

I'm getting flickering sprites everywhere as well, during cutscenes and gameplay. It seems to happen more when there are many sprites on the screen at the same time. It is really irritating.
I deactivated desktop composition, but that made no difference, sprites still flicker as much as with it enabled. Is there some other workaround for this?
I don't think it's CPU-related in my case, I have an Intel Core2Duo E8400 CPU and an AMD Radeon HD7850 GPU, 4 GB RAM, and Windows 7.

A patch is definitely needed, it's not much fun to play in this state :-(

(Also, I have other issues, game doesn't close properly and I would like to be able to configure the sound settings, the game is rather loud. Then again I don't have the issue about unresponsive controls like others reported, for me the controls are tight and as responsive as in the old NES game)

Thanks for the response :D Shame there isn't a solution, but I guess I can always play it on my Desktop instead. Although I was hoping to play Duck Tales on the go :(
Thanks again.

I'm getting the flickering issue too, it was fine in the first area, but then started as soon as I got to The Amazon, doubt it's CPU related. I'm also staying around 45 FPS and rarely jumps to 60FPS

Specs are:
CPU: i7-3770k @ 3.5GHz
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 670
RAM: Corsair 32GB 1866MHz
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit

OK, I found the cause for the flickering on my system: It's related to x360ce, an Xbox Controller Emulator, that I use to play games that only have Xinput support on my regular controller (PS2-Pad connected through an adapter).
When I don't use these files, the game looks great, no more flickering now, even with desktop composition enabled.

Is there absolutely no way to patch some low end cpu mode? I specifically got the pc version because the specs said it would run, and in a way it does but it's rather annoying to have sprites flickering and me being out of 13€. oh and my game dosen't close properly either.
Doctor Dank Aug 16, 2013 @ 5:35pm
There's no way it's just "low-end cpu" causing this. I have an A6-5400k overclocked at 4GHz. It plays this at 1080p with no slowdown. The sprites just flicker like I'm on my NES again. I almost thought it was intentional, but it's obviously not.
Varg Aug 16, 2013 @ 5:54pm
Yeah, I've seen this too on a i5-2500k @ 3.3Ghz. No other issues except the flickering sprites and at one point the game turned blue... That might've been intentional but I doubt it since it was a near a spider in the amazonas while not inside a cave.

I suspect this may be related to some of the shutdown issues, and also issues where people notice the game maxing their CPU (leaving little time to decompress animations). A fix for this is being tested.

Nice :)
I gotta say, I really love this game. When these minor issues are sorted out I'll probably buy it. Fantastic work from what I've seen so far!

Agreed. The game is good enough I only kinda care. It's just mildly irritating and I was hoping a fix was already found.

Same problem here (flickering sprites).

Sounds like we'll just have to wait for a fix on the sprites and shutdown issues (of which I experience both).
