Is this game mostly for nostalgia or for newcomers too?

I'm rather fond of two-dimensional games with cute graphics. BUT, I haven't played the original. Would I still enjoy this title, or would it be lost on those who didn't grow up with the game in their childhood?

I played the original DuckTales for NES, and while I enjoyed it, it wasn't one of my favorite games. I didn't watch the DuckTales cartoon either. But I enjoyed this game.

If you're a fan of platformers it's worth buying. It set the gold standard back in the day and is better than most of the hipster arthouse puzzle platformers that flood the market today.

I played it when I was about 12 and I bought it just to expierience it again. It's just as unforgiving as it was back then. 10/10

I bought it because I liked the cartoon. Like other NES games it seemed hard but I got some enjoyment out of it. I will try to beat it someday.

I recently finished my first playthrough the other night and while I think it scratches that nostalgia itch really well for people who played the NES version, you'd probably still enjoy it. Just maybe not as much as if you had played the original.

I think this version is better than the original, actually.

The only downside to this version is that Scrooge is larger relative to the size of the screen.

i was 6 when i first played this game. but i loved that they used most of the original voice actors and reprised their roles again with the exception of Gyro and Mrs. Beakley who sadly passed away.

This wasnt a game from my childhood, but on ps3 I have bought old 2D games for nostalgia, like the first ray man, but I liked this game also :D
