Let me just quote myself. This is from an old thread in Ep3 Community Hub I made when I got excited to see some news about Episode 4. My joy was premature, as it turned out:

I just came across another article about Rain-Slick 4. Not so good news for me: Rain-Slick 4 to be Exclusive to XBLIG and PC[]. While I understand the rationale behind the decision to not port their games to other platforms, I think dropping Mac support at this point is not cool. At the very least they should make the final Rain-Slick available on Mac since all the previous episodes are as well.

I don't know what their current stance is, but not making the final part of the series not available on Mac is not only "not cool", it's also plain unfair towards us who have played the first three episodes and expected to be able to see how the story concludes. Episode 3 got Mac version after the initial launch, but after the devs explicitly stated that "the new PA RPG will only be on PC & XBLIG", I wouldn't hold my breath.

Penny Arcade paid for the Mac ports on previous games & were unhappy with low sales of the Mac versions so they decided against doing a Mac port of this one. And we're just a 2-man operation living from game to game so though we'd love to have our games available on a wide range of platforms, we have to stick with what pays the bills.

We are looking at switching from XNA to Unity for our next game which would make it much easier for us to handle more platforms so I'm hoping that in the future, we'll be able to handle Mac versions personally (as well as other platforms).

Thanks for the quick-reply rwb36. I have a PC gaming rig but I like to play lower system req. games on my Macbook Pro just for the sake of portability. I'm still buying the game. This thread was more from a curiosity standpoint for me. While I have you here just want to say that I'm a big fan of your games. Takes me back to the good old days. Thanks!

I would buy this game if there were a Linux port. More games for Linux please!

I'm so sad there won't be a mac port for this... I've bought all the other games for my mac. I actually downloaded steam to buy them originally. I was really looking forward to seeing how this story finished. I was also really loving what ZeBoyd did with the RPG-ness of it.
