Suggestions
I just defeated the normal difficulty and yes, this game is great! I really enjoyed it.

And that means this game should be improved more!

So, I just throw my humble suggestions hoping this might be a part of future patch, update, DLC, expansion, sequels, etc...

1. I find camera movement, especially in combat, awkward and slow, and this has nothing to do with FPS issue. I hope it smoothed, and if there's an option for tweaking scroll speed, that'll be great.

2. 2x combat speed isn't fast enough for me. I want at least 4x!

3. Fishing seems meaningless since its success chance is too low that it doesn't increase food supply if I keep fishing. Burial raiding is also useless. Gathering herb and exchanging medicine for valuables and foods is much better than directly obtaining those resources. I think something should be done for this...

4. I think hunting task and preserving task should be merged. Switching hunter's task every time you obtain extra meat and back day after preserving is really tiresome, and we really don't have reason not to preserve anyway, right?
For example... let's say your hunters follow this new merged task and their total hunting skill is 25, and you have 15 unused meat. In this case, 15 points are automatically used to preserve meat and remaining 10 point is used for hunting success ratio.

5, I felt majority of traits, such as Aim Low and Avenger, worthless. Some of them can be rebalanced. Oh, and this may break the game's balance, but non-combat traits, like increasing party move speed or improving trade ratio, may be interesting.

Well, I hope something can be picked up from this.

I'd like to hear other capitans' suggestions too!

I think you can improve movement speed on the map by researching better carts via the Tinker skill.

Thanks for your feedback :) I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

1. Good point. We'll see if we can't fix that by the next patch and implement a scroll speed slider.

2. We'll try it out and see how it looks and maybe put something a little faster in.

3. If anything, we should nerf harvesting medicinal herbs so they more like the others. You're not meant to be able to grind food at these spots, it's something you can do which MIGHT grant you some extra resources. Thanks for pointing it out though :)

4. No. The point is that you're spending the night doing these tasks, so it doesn't make sense that you're able to do two time-consuming tasks in the same night. The hunting skill total is also used to help further bolster the chance of success, so changing it to only account for the first 10 points would make the chance of success significantly smaller.

5. You're right that some of them could be balanced a bit, and we'll try and take a look at some of them, to make them more useful. As for party move speed, you can invent better carts which will give you more movement. Something to improve the trade ratio is a good idea though and we might use that in some way maybe.

Again, thanks for you feedback, definitely some useful things here :) I hope I wasn't too discouraging.

Cheers!

1. Going around on the worldmap is really annoying if I don't have a goal, because I can't scroll fast away from the maincharacter. So I need to always go in like 8 steps intervalls which is really annoying. Either let me click on the minimap on any point or give me more room to maneuver the camera.

2. I personally find Meleefighters, especially Scouts, stronger then Hunters and Scholars. Hunters (before Veteran) are kinda bad in general, because the opponent always charges at me anyways. Even if they have more rangeed units. Just overall balance should be looked at.

3. More choices on what I can say. At the moment I'm playing as Adolfo Hitlero and want to exterminate every savage that there is but I can't even kill those guys, who gave me the pearlchains. I also took a quest for Tenochtitlan and was send to a tomb to disturb some meating (with that guy that I had protected the quest before). So I go to the tomb, because I actually just want to help those people doing their meeting but I have no choice but to kill them all... great. And until now the game doesn't seem to have realized that I actually killed that one important mofo (some others slipped through).

4. Distinct equipment like Swords and Helmets and so on, so that I can individually equip my guys. Maybe with some special effects and so on.

5. Just more campaigns as a DLC or something.

Other then that I like the game very much.

1. Esteban DLC.

1. We already increased the pan distance in 1.1.0, but I don't think we'll increase it THAT much more. As for clicking on any point on the world map, I'm not sure I like the idea of it. Part of the reason being it's an abstraction already and precision will go completely out the window if we do that. I prefer the world map to stay the way it is now. We might do some other things to the camera that would make navigating a bit easier, but I don't know exactly what it would be at this point, so we'd have to see.

2. We're considering it.

3. At this point, it's too late and too expensive to change existing text to such a degree. Adding new dialogue choices requires a lot more than just the choice you click on, as each choice could potentially create new branches of text across several events. It's easier to add new events.

4. This is easier said than done as it requires changes to almost every aspect of the game, not to mention quite a bit of testing.

5. We've mentioned this in a couple of places around here and elsewhere, but I'll just mention here for good measure. While the game has sold reasonably, it hasn't sold nearly enough to justify any DLC or expansion yet. Perhaps if the future yields a large spike in sales, we might consider it.

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback :)

When I wrote it I thought about some sort of expansion or DLC. Well I hope that you can get on some Humblebundle and get a lot of new players, so that it is wort it to make additional content.

For what it's worth I don't agree about hunters sucking; I think doctors are even pretty decent if levelled properly (walk your shots). I like the class distinctions and I think the balance is spot on.
And it makes me want to cry that no expansions are planned, though I understand. If you make more games like this I guess I'll live lol

I really enjoy this game, and I'm sad that I didn't know about the kickstarter, would have enjoyed getting Esteban as recruitable. I think you should just regard the "exclusivity" as timed, like most contracts, and say that it expires after the game has been out for six months to a year. Sad to hear sales don't warrant any DLC, hopefully they warrant an improved sequel (which would in turn probably generate more sales of the original). I want to follow in Pizarro's and Lope "The Madman" Aguirre's footsteps!

My biggest complaint is with the UI. I don't like navigating backwards and forwards through pages to manage tasks. Maybe if each character had a pull-down menu, that would make assigning tasks easier. Complicated pulldowns like Tinker could generate popup menus.

My second biggest complaint is that I'd like to see a bump in the quality of artwork and animation. I don't particularly want to see 3D models, but some of the 2D art is placeholder and unfinished. That, and the horse animation seems a little rough, in that the primary motion of the horse is directly tied to the horsehoes on the map. Adding some secondary animations would smooth the transitions.

My third biggest complaint has to do with the balance and pace of the game, but those issues have either been mentioned or addressed.

These are truly minor complaints. I think this is a tremendous indie game, and I plan to instabuy anything that comes out as DLC or as a new game from these devs.
