How to disband followers and recruit new ones?
Is it possible during campaign to disband certain followers and hire new ones?
There also seems to be a limit of 14 followers, is this true?

I'm in the Mexico Campaign and I already have 14 followers. I've met the Scholar Miguel and he won't join my group, because I already have too many people as he says. I was able to send him to the reconstructed Fortress, but there the only thing I can do is talk to him.

Same problem with that Amazon woman Citlalli. I only can trade with her tribe, but can't recruit her.

How does one recruit these followers and how can I disband certain group members?

Yeah, just sacrifice some of your guys to the aztec gods. EZ

Don't wanna sacrifice any, just disband some. That's not possible?
Still, is there a limit of followers and how do I recruit the followers I mentioned above?

In "El Dorado" I just lost a party member... :-(
I didn't show respect for this pagan statue and its warning. So I went on plundering.

I thought this was some kind of trick of the natives to make me leave. Since they couldn't force me to leave the place in combat where I defeated them, I thought they just had a guy in the Temple hiding within the statue to frighten my men as some kind of last resort.
I couldn't imagine that there was a "real" native god in this game, which is invincible and can kill instantly.

I had to reload, because I didn't want to lose that specific party member. I deliberately sacrificed the Indio girl Anacaona instead. Is she needed story wise? Since her father is my ally against the Aztecs, will he be upset or can I lie to him how she died? Altogether does it matter plot wise?

Well, at least now I have a free slot for a new party member...

Can you guys please answer me, how to recruit Citlalli and if there is a party member limit or is it just Miguel, who won't join larger groups?

Is there really a cap?

Adding more people means more mouths to feed with little improvement to Hunting/Guarding odds, and regardless you can never use more than 6 people in battle, so I don't see why they would have implemented one.

Real native god, eh? I'm just going to assume it was ventriloquism and an undetectable poison needle. I don't like needless supernatural elements in my games, breaks the realism.

I thought so, too, but in the end it doesn't matter, because one party member will die, if you don't give away the banner or the golden spear.

I don't know, I'm asking you guys, if there is a cap. I thought so, because Miguel won't join my group, which is already too large for his preferences, as he keeps telling me.
On the other side, there is the magenetic personality achievement, where you shall recruit all 6 native followers. If there was a cap of followers, that would be quite hard to achieve. You'd have to lose as many followers in order to get the new ones.

How many additional followers did you guys recruit during your expedition?

EDIT: Ok, there seems to be no cap for followers, because only Miguel won't join you, if you've got too many companions. Concerning my original question, one can't disband companions. The only way to lose certain followers is to let them die or to sacrifice them.
