In the same way... in the readme text file (/user/my games/E:C/Override) you say: "STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS:The achievements can only be obtained if the game is played in one of the official languages (English or Spanish) not when using a custom one.".
Obviously there's more than 2 "official" languages now, but with all the improvement you've added since this readme text file was created, an "unofficial" language doesn't allow getting achievements ?
The problem is: I am not able to find my savegames on the MAC. I am using a MacBookPro from 2009 with OSX 10.8. And playing the steamversion of Expeditions: Conquistador.
On the Internet I found several thread saing the savegames are at: ".local/share/Expeditions Conquistador". But there is no ".local/" folder on my MAC.
Maybe you know how to find the savegames?
Open your Terminal om your Mac and write:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
This will show you all of the hidden files and folders on your operating system. If you want to reverse the command replace TRUE with FALSE.
Then open Finder and find your main disc (The one with your name). In there your click the .local folder. Here you will find your games. Choose Expeditions Conquistador --> Saves-folder.
This should help you out.

Thanks for the help, I got it :) Now I can continue playing without fps drops :-)
Thank you Mick_Frenzy and Nova!
