10% of steam users used a 5:4 1280x1024 monitor in 2012 according to wiki, so I would agree it's pretty stupid not to support it. Then again it's also stupid IMO to play games with a that low resolution when you can get a so much better monitor today.

Well, I'm sure they could add some disclaimer, so that people would know this BEFORE they buy the game.

Also, while suport for native 5:4 resolutions would be great, I wouldn't mind playing the game with a 4:3 resolution on a 5:4 monitor, assuming this is technically possible. It's much better than not playing at all.

Also, my 5:4 monitor is not a CRT, it's a Samsung LCD monitor, and no other game has refused to run on it.

Actually i am using an 5:4 monitor (Syncmaster 913N@1280*1024) and i have no problems with it at all. There are two black bars on the top and the bottom, so i get the 16:9 aspect ratio. I think its important to give the same playroom on the level to all players.

And guys dont hate the 5:4 users. Its true that 16:9 is better for games and movies, but aside that 5:4 is better for everything you can use a computer.
