EU4 is great, but not as realistic as it seems. First off you have to have at least like 20 wars to fully annex a decent sized european country such as france or Great Britain. I know if you could annex entire countries then the whole thing would go to crap, but the problem is that the economy really doesn't matter that much. You can literally raise huge armies and have them mobilized and still have plenty of income. I think if they implemented a system which made winning wars give you the option to annex large areas of land, but made them extremely costly depeding on how many men are: marching, in combat, and moblized, then the game would feel historically accurate. Hopefully in EU5 (If it's ever a thing, wars will be like this). This game is great except for that one point. I honestly prefer Victoria II which is a bit cheaper and the economy actually has to be managed along with many diplomatic features.
On the good side this game has an amazing colonization system, good graphics, and a TON of replayability. Not to mention an amazing tutorial which can teach you the game within 10-15 minutes. I would reccomend this game to anyone who loves empire building games, and doesn't want to spend a lot of time learning the basics.
