Is this better than the first?
I somewhat enjoyed playing the first version of the game...does this deliver? I'm referring to the SP campaign as I doubt I'll put much effort into MP.

I also enjoyed Anomaly 1 and I decided to preorder A2 for the single player and I can honestly say that it was an improvement over the first one, the morphing capabilities expand your strategies. It's about as long as the first one. I didn't really get into MP, would have preffered another SP game mode instead. But if your aim is the SP campaign, go for it, it's pretty awesome!

Definitely NO. Campaign is so short, what is simply unrespect.

I see you're close to finishing (or have finished) after 5 hours. Are you playing on easy or normal?

I am 7 hours and on the final mission. Reason for this is because I played AWE on mobile, and only the first 4 levels of AWE PC. I have the strategies in mind, but the mouse/keyboard controls are pretty hectic and take getting used to. Plus there's even morphing here!

I'm playing on normal. I reckon for veterans of AWE PC it would take between 5-6 hours to finish on normal.

Also, of my 7 hours, about 1 1/2 hrs should not be counted. Idling and also because twice I had to quit when I was already halfway into missions.

On the whole it's neither better nor worse. Campaign is too short with little replayability, and new features feel a bit thin.

Morphing is cool... but removes the need to sell units to adapt to any situation. More twitch playing, less "strategy".
Multiple endings sounds great... but the final mission is exactly the same whatever color you choose.

It's not bad at all, but it's not the "better, bolder" kind of sequel I was expecting.

Definitely agree that morphing is twitch gaming and detracts from a strategic POV. You need to be quick etc...not use your wits is what I have observed.

I enjoyed the second more than the first. I tried one game of MP and just did not like it. SP campaign of around 7 hours was very fun though. I, like others, would have enjoyed the game more if the SP was longer, or even if there were "challenge" achievements like in the first Anomoly game for the existing levels. Things like "beat this level using only..." or "make it to a point with fewer than X units" or something along those lines.

I'd say for the 1 I prefer the gameplay on touch device I don't like much on computer version to have to constantly move around the commander I felt it's a gameplay layer not fun for me and pointlessly harassing.

I wonder if the 2 changed something about that.

No it didn't. I feel the same as you too!

Ok thank you, I should try again the 1 on computer because my tablet is now very old and I don't plan buy a new one nor really use this antiquity. :-)

I prefer the first game. I'm not sure how to express that, it was more lively, imo.
It has great conversations and very interesting plot.

In the other hand Anomaly 2 has quite obvious plot, nothing special.

I think A2 has better gameplay because of additional features and you can't win a mission just by using the rocket walkers w/o any other units, but A1 has better story and protagonists.
