See Game Won't Load topic (third one) above this one for a possible solution.
Thanks for your reply but my game loads and everything but ONLY from "Aces.exe" inside my War thunder directory.
If I try to launch the game from steam that takes me to the game launcher I am unable to click "PLAY" because it displayes the following message: "Downloading launcher update please wait".
Other than that I can play the game online but NOT through the launcher.
Have you considered letting it update the launcher, say, when you're doing something else?
Did it launch from Steam before? If so and letting it update the launcher doesn't work, you might consider uninstalling Steam, rebooting your computer and then re-installing it again. I know this will take some time, but might just solve the problem.
Yes, you can always go directly to the Aces.exe application itself, the game, but it will avoid Steam then altogether. When I installed Steam after having played War Thunder for a long time, I still had to allow Steam to re-download the game so that it would load through it.
I never have to do that to launch War Thunder via Steam, but it might work for him. Don't know unless he tries. I have had games in Win Vista where I had to do that, but so far not in Win 8.
Yea the launcher is NOT updating my game...I guess.
Its showing 0 connectivity in the launcher.
Now that I want to play through "Aces.exe" I get an error saying it needs updation, although I was playing just last night.
I might consider re installing but would not want to.
Everything is set up to run as admin. still.
Look into the SteamApps -> Common -> War Thunder -> .launcher_log, and see if you can find what is causing your problem.
Found out that it was my anti-virus doing all the trouble well they were doing their job but suffice to say I got it working now fully operational.
I am also glad for the support! :)
