This game did not Skip Greenlight (@Totalbiscuit and fans)
As the developers have said, this game had an agreement a year before Greenlight even came out. TB's video is either wrong or was meant as sarcasm and is severely misleading thousands upon thousands of people right now :)

From the developers:
Yup, that's actually the case! We had an agreement with Valve more than a year before Greenlight came into being, it just took a while to launch.

We understand the frustration of not having access to some of your favourite concepts yet, but we have faith that Steam will continue to release awesome titles.

Figured I'd put this up here since TB's latest video is going to be misleading many people into thinking it is.

Yeah... honestly I think TB was way out of line with that video. Also, I think the game is really fun and addicting. Who doesnt want to play a game starring a cat with a top hat and monocle?

I fully understand his intentions, and it's no secret that Greenlight has his flaws, but the video really seemed to be made entirely based on the false premise that this game skipped Greenlight.

I love TB's video's a lot, aside from a few cat channels he's the only Youtuber I follow but this one will have people screaming for months that this game skipped Greenlight, which is blatantly false. Maybe he was sarcastic about that as well but I doubt it somehow, I think the intent was to harp on Greenlight, which is fine, but not for the wrong reasons like this video is doing.

At least it's going to drive sales for a while :)

It did skip greenlight though. It didn't go through greenlight while most games do, hence it "skipped greenlight". There may well be good reasons laid down in advance for certain games to skip greenlight but it still happened.

All the other indie/casual games released before greenlight 'skipped' greenlight as well, should they be put through greenlight again as well then?

It's getting criticized for not having to go through Greenlight like the rest of the games. That's misleading. The purpose of Greenlight is to get a deal with Steam. This game didn't have to because it already had the deal long before Greenlight came out.

Yea it's a crappy game. While it's annoying and frustrating that these type of games that should be for free on flash or IOS and are usually to play while taking a dump on the toilet get a privilege of releasing on steam while much better, real games get denied or have to go through greenlights popularity contest. He is just blowing off some steam.

There's plenty of argument to be had there, I'm just saying he picked the wrong game to argue it with because it's based on false information/assumptions :)

I'm sure the devs will love it though. "There's no such thing as bad publicity".

I'm sure TB just sold a crap ton of copies for this game by putting up that video.

Even if you're correct, it shouldn't have taken them... what... a year? 2? to make such a piece of absolute garbage. I mean, this is a bubble game. A horrible one at that. I'm honestly surprised valve would approve this kind of trash.

uhm it was a improv satire even tho he does not like how greenlight is working out i really don't think he was really talking about the game more i think it was more about greenlight than anything it seems he just used this game as a funny. imo.

Steam is only for elitist games then? A place only for 'good' games. Wow what a statement

That part was pretty obvious, but as you say, the topic of the video was Greenlight more so than the game, yet his argument there does not apply to this game at all, but now a ton of his viewers actually think this game skipped the Greenlight process.

This isn't 'a piece of trash' it's just a casual game, so steam are not aloud to publish casual games now?

I think any game should deserve the chance to be published. Its up to the people to decide if a game is good or not.
