I played the Tutorial for 30 min.. then restarted and had no Problem at all with money.

I restarted after about 30 minutes too; I made some poor build decisions early in the game that crippled my empire's finances. The second game is going fine.

I colonize 3 planet and have -270mc income, but after 2 turns construction research push my economy.
Now i have +47.64bc income and no problem.. 8)

I built a Shipyard as the Tutorial said, "I should consider doing it soon." Which I took as right now. My economy went into the Red real fast. I didn't go backrupt though, once I got the first warning and saw the -3BC treasury, I scrapped the Shipyard and I rolled in cash once more (pretty much I would be able to speed rush my first colonisers and start settling space and building up my first colonies without too many problems).

And my economy has been growing since then. I can now finally afford the upkeep on a Shipyard now.

I did go bankruptcy on 1st game. After a restart it was fine :P

I deleted the shipyard after the tutorial then came into contact with a race and started doing heavy trading. Making about 30k BC.

If you deviate from the tutorial at all you will prolly go bankrupt as i did ;) Building a starbase and shipyard is very possible with the current starting cash. Maintaining them however is a different story ;) I haven't found a way to see how much a building costs in maintenance before having it build :<

In the next update, the tutorial will no longer tell you to build a shipyard. It's very difficult to afford the maintainance cost of one early on in the game (sorry about that :P)

Thanks Groggeroo

I restarted as it got to the point that I needed to fire my entire fleet so that I was not losing money and I had not even finished the tutorial... I got bored and started doing other things, but then was forced into spending money elsewhere... Feedback was sent anyway... Restarted last night and played for 5 hours without the tutorial, when I saved I was earning in excess of 40bln per turn, with multiple colonies and 3 good sized fleets....about to get some more game time in now!

The tutorial said that I would need a shipyard, so I took it at face value not realizing just how much 2bc maint would kill my economy that early in the game. Never quite went bankrupt, but never really recovered financially either. The second game, after I knew what the maint costs were and what was necessary to make money, I had no problems and my economy was great. Overall, I'd say the buildings, income, maint, etc are pretty well balanced.
