This might be the fastest I've ever recommended any game so far.
Watching the Trailer and the start of the game, it was pretty alright, didn't seem too special.
But after only having played for an hour, though, I instantly had to my friends to get this.LET'S GET TO IT!
The soundtrack is amazing. Always fitting, very tense and the looping isn't too noticable when you're fighting either, so it doesn't become annoying over time either.
I enjoyed most of the voice acting and the characters are really well done (even if a bit, well, annoying at times). Fidget was made to be super lovable, and that was a clear success! Dust did sometimes act up a bit too much, but is otherwise a pretty likable protagonist too. It just felt like the more sidequest-related characters weren't too thought out, most of them didn't feel too special to me.
The art is just gorgeous, same with the animations which are just super fluid! The amount of detail put into basically everything is really just insane, in both the cutscenes and in-game sprites! Oh and those cutscenes were really unexpected, really well done there too! Here's some specific things I didn't really like about the game, which aren't too major, honestly...
First things first, the game likes to, at random times, drop down to below 1 FPS. For some reason, taking a screenshot fixes that, and it isn't too common; probably just related with something I'm running, who cares.
Next up, gameplay! Well, what can ya do, it's a Hack'n'Slash, and if you're a huge fan of that genre, it's your to-go thing!
Of course getting into the game, you know what to expect, but either way, while there were a ton of puzzles and interesting gameplay mixed into the gameplay, it otherwise was really repetitive. Only having 3 attacks, and the fact you CAN succeed by just spamming everything, really makes things easy and boring. (Yes, I know about the combos, not too many there either!)
One thing that also made me kinda frustrated is the fact that some things aren't enforced. While this can mostly be annoying, it definitely seemed necessary for important mechanics like the forging at the black smith. It really changed the game a ton, but I only discovered it all the way up to the last level of the game, where I was going back to uncomplete sidequests. If the main quest had you get there, it would've definitely made the rest of the game less of a pain!
Aaaand a super minor thing to finish it off (come on, this game is beauty, gotta nitpick):
You don't see the map when you're doing a combo, which is really annoying when you're heading somewhere specific and can't see where you're going without having to pause every now and then (as getting a combo is mandatory when crossing any level).
TL;DR: Get this if you like the genre, oh god please do!
