Gameplay question on how to get MANY hit combos...
My current stats (no idea if providing this information will help you in answering my question or not).

7 (blocks) 1319 health (10% rescue bonus)
3 / 58 attack (112 w/gear)
3 / 45 defense (68)
3 / 45 fidget (63)
16 luck (16)

I'm level 16 and I'm trying to complete the quest/task of getting a 1000 or more hit combo.

If I level up my attack (and or fidget) too much, will this make it more difficult to get more hits?

Thank you for any advice and I am crazy loving this game.

(max hit chain so far 294 with about 32% of game completion in about 6 hours of gameplay).

And if anyone is considering purchasing this game, do not hesitate. I'm LOVING this game and I give it my highest endorsement.

Remove your augment and stick an Ugly Pendant around your neck and you'll have trouble killing everything (and therefore no trouble getting lots of hits) no matter how high your attack is.

Would it be possible to get the 1k hit combo in the challenge areas? Never bene there but they seem like the perfect place to get such achievements.

Best place to get it is the undead graveyard area vs the wizard things that constantly spawn enemies. Remove augment, equip Ugly Pendant, and it takes like 10 seconds.

Only one or two of the challenge areas are about combat, and even then the enemies are weak. If you want to get the 1,000 hit combo, you should go to the Sorrowing Meadow, which is arguably the best place to go for high combos. There are dozens of YouTube videos showing how to do it.

And unless you kept your Attack and Fidget at 0 gems, you will need the Ugly Pendant, which you'll find in the Cirromon Caverns, in the room where you got the Slide ability.

You'll find an "Ugly pendant" later on in the game that makes this task a breeze: it lowers your stats enormously so you can get however many hits you want on higher-level monsters. Then you just need to figure out the right balance between combos and Dust Storm, as well as trying not to get murdered while at it.
Several helpful responses! Thank you guys/gals.

any other uses for the ugly pendant that people may have come across?

For fun and games, definitely. I imagine it's also useful in gathering more XP, though I haven't tried it for that purpose yet.

If you are, for some reason, really bad at combos, it's possible to brute-force this achievement using the graveyard level - just lure a bunch of zombies into a heap, then use the slide attack repeatedly going back and forth like some sort of furry dot matrix printer. It's a weak attack so they don't die too quickly, and it keeps them stunlocked while you rack up the points.

Another easy way to get the acheivement is to go to the farm when you first rescue the old people. When the two giants drop down, throw fidget's dust and then do the aerial spin. You'll get maybe 30-40 hits (or more) per attack, do this until you hit 1000+. I got 1219 this way :)

I feel really stupid for not thinking about using the ugly pendant. Made it so easy.
