GRAPHICS PROBLEM: Middle Screen Black
Hi guys!, The game starts and shows the middle of the screen in black, cropping 50% of the screen. The menu looks well. Im running it in an Asus G74S, GTX 560M.

Any solution?
Thanks

Same. For most of the game there was no problems. I'm in chapter 4 now, right at a very crucial cut scene, and I can't really watch it because I'm missing the top half of my screen. =/ I've toyed with the settings and nothing seems to be fixing the issue. I'm at a loss here.

All I can really offer is the general solutions that may/may not work. Verify game cache, update your graphics driver, try reinstalling the redist files in the "Steam\SteamApps\common\Dust An Elysian Tail\_CommonRedist" folder.

Figured it out. Last page of the support thread in this forum identified a Windows security update that was released recently, KB2803821, as the problem. Remove that and it should work fine. You can do that on Win7 by going to Programs and Features under control panel and going to "View Installed Updates". Not exactly sure why I didn't check the support thread in the first place. =p

Just started happening to me yesterday. Hope there's a patch soon. Uninstalling a security update doesn't seem like a wise fix.

From what people have mentioned, though, that update's created such issues across the board, more than just with this game

looks like it's just for Windows Media Player. That makes me less worried to remove it.

I have the same issue myself and even went as far as taking a screen of it to show.
It started for me right after a bunch of windows 7 updates in which I noticed the update above in the lot. Can't be a coincidence.

i cant find the right update in win win7 any help
Freyar 17 Ιουλ, 2013 @ 5:22πμ
It's caused by a recent Windows update for XP and Windows 7 as documented here:
http://www.infoworld.com/t/microsoft-windows/another-botched-windows-patch-ms13-057kb-2803821kb-2834904-222636

You need to find and uninstall updates (Add Remove Programs in WindowsXP, Programs and Features in Win7) marked as KB2803821 or KB 2834904 depending on your OS.
