No voice intro.
Anyone else having the same problem? I have no narrator's voice in the intro, as the subtitles go. I found the video in the install destination under the name "cutscene_000.wmv", and it doesn't have the sound either. Should I try to reinstall the game?

Man, I just commented there, people having first world problems :)) Voice acting may not be the best EVER, but it will give you nice feeling, that connection with the game. And given, that they were mostly independent voice actors, it came out really nice.

Did you try to verify your cache integrity? That may fix it.

Right click over the game in your library>Properties>files (?)>Verify Integrity of Cache. Something like that.

Tried it just now, didn't work. I even found separate narration voice file (in folder voice/Narration), so the file is there. Will try to reinstall it.

Reinstalled, but still no voice in the intro, I hope I am not missing more things in the game like this. It's strange, because all files for it to work are there.

@Neochrome, there are a few instances where the audio requires Windows Media Player. I'm assuming you can see video so it seems to be mostly working, but make sure you have the latest version installed in Windows. It's also possible that a third party codec has taken over, which makes XNA cry.

Mkay, I think I've figured it now after what you said, two years ago, when I was installing fresh Win7, I removed things I thought I will never use, like WMP or IE, from the system, because I'm using alternatives (MPC, FF...). And I knew some part, or library, may still be used by some other programs to work properly, but I removed it mercilessly. And I think this is my first problem I encounter because of it. I'll give it a try and put at least that default Win7 WMP back and see, hopefully, it will work.

Thank you for responding so quickly and thank you for making this game, I merely started - Aurora Village - but I'm enjoying it 120%, Hardcore is tough and full of instagibs! :]

Happy to report, that installing WMP solved this problem, once again thank you.
