Will the combat evolve?
If you don't want to know ANYTHING of what is to come in this game, then don't read this thread.

I like this game soooo much.
It's got fun, well made combat. Cute, interesting, funny dialogue. Ditto the characters.
I am very glad I bought it.

But, the combat is starting to feel repetitive.

I'm about 7 hours in to the game, and I still haven't learned ANY new abilities.
To give you a sense of my progress, I now have 3 Fidget abilities, and just got the slide "ability".
Getting more Fidget powers doesn't really do anything to evolve the combat since you use them all in the same way.

If you tell me that the combat will not evolve more than this, it wouldn't be the end of the world for me since this game has a lot more to offer than just hitting stuff, but I would love some more attack combos and "Dust abilities".

No. As I remembered: you have only 8 combos and 3 type of Fidget attacks. +2 basic move (dash, jump). You can open "Controls" int the main menu.

Yes it's not enough to make this game like Mortal Combat (or what game have more than 100 combos?), but it's enough to make you use them in a perfect sequence. And finding a perfect one for every type of monsters. Trying to make a longest hit chain.

I have played more than 20+ days (not only in Steam) in this game and combat is not borring for me. But if play on Easy or Casual - yes... it must be borring )

Aw that's a shame.

Maybe... But combat is not the main part of this game... And I see you agree with this )

I just think it's a shame since it has so much potential for a more evolved fighting system.

For a first game I'd say it's good enough i mean i got over 1000 hit combo's easy and on hardcore it was pretty challenging
But i admit it could have been better

The limited attacks is dissapointing, but when you learn the different combos, then mix those with more combos or special attacks, things get a hell of a lot more fun.

I'd wager that action rpg's are questionably hard to make combat systems, since it'd change its genre or entire environment/feel at all after publishing. Besides, how can you pack the programming to make SUPER 5-stars when all you got is a hit block and a sword??

end-game enemys can perry and dodge attacks to it does get harder, but i mean END-game, end-game

They are sooo easy ) But not when they suddenly can brake your 2K-3K hit chain (I use Ugly Pendant to minimize my attack). Plus it's very hard when you fly through the whole map-sector, using Fidget all the time and use The Fallen move to get 100% energy meter. NONSTOP... I'm using fire and 110% of my screen is yellow, you know, what I mean )

Well that's kind of my point.
I would like another weapon to switch between.

That way the attack combinations could be identical for both weapons while the actual attacks are different.

I guess an addition of integrated weaponry has its benefit but isn't that like crappy magic programming features? Like just putting an additional 5 lines of code just for "New GOOD game-development". at least that's how i see it.
But i sense that dust has the routes, the potential, and so many good things can be made out of it.

The combat changes a bit when you finally get double jump, because the second jump allows you to cancel out of a dodge. One of my favorite ways to cover long distances during the Arena Challenges was to dodge -> cancel into double jump -> Aerial Dust Storm to keep my momentum. Very fast...probably not supposed to be possible, as there were a couple times I think I clipped through the map in Blackmoor Mountains.
