Curious about the unlockable "friends"
I recognize meat boy and his girlfriend, but I have no idea about the rest of them. I'm particularly curious about the two characters that are in black and white. Who are they?

From some game called Dishwasher, apparently. These "friends" are from all sorts of indie games except for two. I have played a couple of them. It's pretty funny how the levels around the areas you find them in are designed, it's usually done in similarily recognizeable ways as the original games with these characters did.

Yeah, better put in Spoilers:

Two of them are a tribute to Hyperduck Soundworks, who had done the music together with Alex Brandon. If you get both, look out the estate in the mountains, where all freed friends are ;)

If I remember right, I think that Dordill once said on the official Dust facebook that this was an idea he had wanted to put in as a collectable idea. This was in reponse to me asking him if it was his idea, one of the demans Microsoft made.
I think it's a great idea and a cleveer nod to great indie games.

I agree. It made me interested to learn more about the characters... and a little disappointed that The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai isn't available on Steam.

If it's an XBox Live Arcade game there is probably a chance it will hit the PC someday. Just like Dust:AET did.
