8-6 are you folking kidding me?
Hey guys, just wanted to tell you that 8-6 is a bad example of game design. This puzzle is just unsolvable withount knowing of an old school gaming history. I've spend a long time trying to find the clue INSIDE the game I was playing. Thank god I've decided to Google solution!
What is this? You can't rely on external knowledge in puzzle games. When I play puzzle game I need to be sure the puzzle is solvable with just knowing the mechanics of the game itself! Or esle how could I spend time on thinking to solve your puzzled when I'm not sure I can possibly solve it!
And don't anybody even try telling me that was the idea. That's a stupid idea for such a game! lol
I dunno how will I continue playing this game. I guess now I'll do googling each time there's no obvious solution.

There is only one level of that kind and your thread is ridiculous.

I don't think it's that ridiculous, but there was another thread like this one already...

It wouldn't have been that bad as an easter egg or a bonus level, but turning it into the last puzzle of the last world of a puzzle game based entirely on thinking was kind of a disappointment to me. I was expecting the ultimate level to test all my previously learnt skills, rather than something based on external knowledge...

BTW, if you are looking for a challenging Key-based puzzle, you can always try out my custom map... It's actually something suitable to the Portal-themed bot... ;)

Sorry for the shameless self-advertising, but I'm really looking forward to hearing some thoughts about it... already spent more time on this level than beating the entire game... ^_^

Yes after tearing all my hairs off I've realized I didn't have to pass this level to unlock next sections. But that's not obvious you know. Because every previous section required that golden key to unlock the next section.
Still that's a bad idea for final level. I agree it could be nice for bonus level.

None of the keys is required to progress, they just unlock the Big Mama levels, which are optional. To gain acess to other bots, you have to collect a number of memory blocks, which is clearly shown in the level selection screen. O_o

But, by the time you play 8-6 you should have unlocked the whole game already (apart from Big Mamamia), so I don't see what you mean...

I agree. I'm old enough to get the reference but that shouldn't be necessary to play the level. This is a regular level, not an optional Easter egg.

I've seen a letter and another 2 levels after that one. So I had no clue that was a final level. Now I think those 2 are just bonus ones.
And I'm pretty sure I needed keys to unlock next levels at some point. Can't remember where exactly.
P.S.: Maybe it was Big Mamamia level only but I'd never knew it was a bonus level if I hadn't heard it here after finishing the whole game lol

I cheated too. I knew what the code was (i probably entered it a few times back then). But i didn't know which control panel was being used. After trying numerous combinations of the code, i looked at a walkthrough.
