Is this "just" a platformer?
Is this game just a good platformer or is it Thomas Was Alone sort of special?

Well, it's best to check some reviews and gameplay videos if you want to figure that out. I've collected a couple of reviews and gameplay videos on http://element4l.com and http://facebook.com/element4lgame

Thanks for your interest!

To view this as merely a "platformer" would be unfair. While it is a 'get from point A to point B' style, actually getting to point B is quite an effort. It's frantic switching between element types, understanding what each one does and screaming violently at your monitor when your brain and hands aren't working together fast enough. Good news is that when you mess up, checkpoints aren't too far apart and you have about 0.1 seconds to get yourself together and try again.

I've recommended this to quite a few of my hardcore gamer friends. Looks cute on the surface, but it's pure evil at its core.

I gotta pass on it then. At first look game seems relaxing, but if it's evil and torture, then it's a BIG "no" for me.
I'm not gonna risk buying it to scream, curse and break controllers. Completion is not worth sanity.

hehe... Swenor, it's certainly not unfair. The only real hindrance there is in element4l, is getting used to a whole new control scheme, and experimenting with those. if the game is torturing you in a certain section, it's most certainly because you have not figured out the right way to do it yet. But yeah, you need some patience to master it... ;-)
