Longer song lengths plz

As someone who likes to listen to podcasts while I play, the song length limit of 1 hour in the previous version really hurt my use of the game. I hope this one will support longer song lengths, as after playing with my music tracks and getting used to the pattern listening to new podcasts means a more interesting ride.

If I get this correctly, you're using Audiosurf as a music player only? Surfing a podcast is not what Audiosruf is designed for, the same way it does not cope well with sound effects (I've played 5 second nintendo sounds). Im a huge fan of progressive music and the longest songs I encounter are around 60 minutes. The only longer songs I can think of are classical opera's and for instance the Mathew Passion by JS Bach.

It might be possible to make a mod that acts a a music visualiser, but I doubt they could make the lebght limit much longer. It probably would take a lot of RAM to run a full podcast.

Why not just chop the audio of the podcasts in half, to where Audiosurf 2 will be able to process each hour length of talking?

I have used audio surf for just music, but after playing the same song over and over I get bored. If this isn't something they plan to implement that is fine, but for me I can't justify buying it if it can't work well with the content I listen to. I don't buy new music, so I would just be running the same 30 songs I own.

I don't fault them for not implementing the feature, it is just something I have wanted since audio surf came out. Since I bought it with the intention of using it to play something while I listen to podcasts. But lately I listen to 1 hour plus podcasts.

As for cutting the track up, while I can do this, it is not something I want to have to do. Since it would probably require me listening to the track in order to determine when to cut it to avoid having a weird break in the conversation. Which defeats the purpose of listening to something new as I play it.

I honestly would have thought it would be more obvious and not much harder for the game to do dynamic loading and unloading of the track. Practically every music/video player out there does this. Even long YouTube videos, which run in *flash* of all things.

I must of missed this thread as I ended up posting about it as well, the max song length gets butchered with faster paced mods so an increase would be loved!

A lot of mixes I listen to are over an hour in length, in audiosurf 1 I just had to chop off everything over an hour but it would be cool if could get the length increased for audiosurf 2.

I believe it does suport longer songs, but the rythmes get realy strange...
