Song Selection needs some work
Every time you load up a new folder it takes about 5 seconds per song to load the album cover and name properly. This means with some folders you have to wait minutes for the actual songs to load so that you can pick one, and heavens forbid you clicked on the wrong folder by mistake. Is this due to the way Audiosurf checks compatible files? I'm sure most would put up with a slightly longer loading time if finding songs was as quick as in windows explorer.

It's still being worked on.
Cache database has been confirmed being worked on as seen on this update >> http://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791434144391/announcements/detail/1912069459660786772

Let's hope there is a way to go back to Audio Surf 1 methods because waiting for songs to be scanned is a waste of time. Still scanning a disk... 5 minutes later... Would have been riding the song by now in AS1.

It wouldn't be a problem if it just scanned the songs only one time.
A system like the one from Beat Hazard would be great.

Beat Hazard scans all songs from one folder, which takes a couple of seconds, and it does it only the first time you open it, and gives you benefits, like a random song of yours playing at the backround in the menus, pre-hearing music, seeing your records instantly, or if you played this song at all...etc.
