Yet another is this good discussion
I just want to know, is this any good? I am aware that it is in it's early stages, but I would like to know if I get Bang for my Buck. Also, I tried the demo to the first one and was mildly impressed, so is this a direct upgrade?

The game has definately enough in it to make it worth your money, plus the things they keep adding and the modding community.

Unless you really like mono and double vision, and play just keyboard/mouse, this game is pretty lackluster compared to Audiosurf. The pace at which it is being updated is like once a month, and no new official modes have been added for months.

I like the wakeboard mode. :D

AS2 is a billion times better than AS1. You have wakeboard mode for something new. The mono mode has been made more difficult/fast, which means more interesting. Scoreboards are now integrated into Steam. The graphics make AS1 look two decades old. Buy it.
I'd say so-so. The game is great and all but it still in beta stages and since christmas I didn't see many updates. Not the very easy to implement and requested last.fm scrobbling, but still a good game.

Is AS2 good?
Yes.

Does it worth its actual price?
I can't answer, as for myself I'm only unhappy to don't see the last.fm scrobbling but I have a lot of more fun than in AS1 with the mono.

Reminder that AS2 is in Early Access Phase. If you'd rather wait until the game officially releases as a final product then wait. More will come but so far it's once a month. At least I have other games and other things to keep me busy from AS2, and well I am playing AS2 often. It's fun to jump in and out.

If you want to play it already while it undergoes development then go for it. The mods add variety and feel to the available modes in AS2. Some artistic and some with more simplicity, and then some with higher-end requirements like the Manifold skin.

The choice is yours.
