MINERVA: Metastasis

MINERVA: Metastasis

Only for Windows?
Is there any reason a mod for the Linux-compatible HL2:EP1 shouldn't work on Linux too? Why did you only allow it for Windows?

Adam made this game and released it more than 5 years ago, well before HL2 Ep 1 was available for Linux. He's probably too busy working at Valve to have time to port it to Linux.
That's not my point. As far as I understand this is a "pure mod", using the engine and some own content, but no new code. So there shouldn't be anything to "port" at all. In that case it should be just a matter of telling Steam on Linux where to copy the mod-files. Is there something I am missing about this?
The new Source SDK allows mods to be ported onto Mac and Linux, it also supports SteamPipe and VR
I agree it should not be hard at all perhaps, we just need to make more noise about getting a Linux version

I was recommended to take a look at MINERVA: Metastasis, but was unable to on my Mac. The assertion by b_i_d suggests that it should work across all three platforms supported by HL2, given correct packaging. Is there a method to manually place the mod files in the correct places on Linux or MacOSX?
Well if you want it on Linux port it yourself. Personally I could care less about Linux it is not for games in the first place and there is no need what so ever to even put any games on Linux. If you want to play games get Windows and you can play all of the games you want instead of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it in a forum!
Here's another voice of disappointment that it's not available on Linux.

You just can't use or understand Linux. If Linux users want the game, what's it to you?

If it is truly a content mod, you need to download it from the Minerva site and manually install it. Restart Steam after that and you'll be good to go.
Why do that when it's on Steam?

Because the Steam version isn't working for Linux users right now. Which you would have found out if you had read the thread.
