"Always online"?
This may just be me, but whenever I lauch the game while I'm connected to the internet, if my internet goes down (which is often because it's pretty bad) the game will just immediatly crash. I don't know if anyone else has had this happen, and I'm pretty sure it will be fixed soon either via patch or mod, but I'd like to know if this has happened to anyone else.

Nope, just tried here. The game simply closes itself if you disconnect and wond boot up if you are offline.

+1, game won't start in offline mode at all. Pathetic. :\

So, where do we complain?

Maybe we should try Kotaku or Reddit... not sure customer service would give a ♥♥♥♥.

Same problem here, I need to use offline mode frequently too. So gutted.

Just tested and you're not lying.

Always online promotes piracy. What were they thinking... then again, it's their first time developing for PC so hopefully they're tuned to forums such as these and will patch the game accordingly.

I play all of my games in Offline Mode unless they're multiplayer.
Very disappointed. Would not buy from again.

You only need to be online to initially start the game.
I've not noticed the actual client connecting to anything, and the issue only arises after Steam decides there is no cloud access, so that might not actually be intentional.

I don't even have cloud enabled.

Might be a cloud saving bug then?

Huh, I just tried to launch the game after disconnecting and you're right. Wanted to test myself to see if anybody was jumping to conclusions haha. Seems more like a glitch than something intended honestly. I don't think steam even *does* always online DRM haha. Although I was just in a thread like this that got shutdown by an admin :/

If you unplug your ethernet after the game has loaded, and you've started the story, it'll boot you off after a minute.

Yeah, I tried it, booted it up, disconnected, and it kicked me in the middle of VR mission 1 - would have probably kicked me during a save if it was some sort of save bug.

yeah, i second that. If it'd be intentional, the steam store page would surely mention it. or maybe i'm just that naive :)
I'll wait a few weeks before i buy it, just to be sure.
