[SOLVED]Cannot get game to launch

MSI Notebook
Windows 8.1 64bit
Intel Core i7 @ 2.50GHz
16GB RAM
GeForce GTX 870M

The install went smoothly but when I try to load the game, a window stating "Preparing to launch METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGENCE..." appears for a few seconds and then disappears. No error messages, nothing. I reinstalled and observed no change.
Any help is appreciated!

You probably should contact Konami's support and submit them a support ticket.

I had the exact same problem on Windows 8.1, I resolved it by installing DirectX End-User Runtime 9.0c from Microsoft.

Apparently I needed to go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

And install updates to DirectX 9.0c. With Windows 8.1 I have DirectX 11.
Quick and easy fix with just that one link.
The game immediately loaded and I am very pleased- it is awesome.
